Janet Dakey collaborated with me to produce my book, The Good College, a collection of essays to help families find a college that is their best academic, financial and social fit. She designed the book cover, interior art, typefaces as well as the web site, thegoodcollege.com. She also helped me to work through the online platform for the book as well Amazon dashboard to bring the book to market.
I have known Janet for 15 years and engaged her services on many design-related projects. She is not only an excellent designer, who represents my intentions quite well; she is also an excellent listener who takes the time to understand them. Through our collaboration on The Good College, I saw her patiently work to find the best platform to produce a paperback and Kindle book and to execute both efforts in those platforms. Janet is a very creative and intelligent designer. I have been very lucky to have her in my corner. The Good College by Stuart Nachbar is a collection of updated essays from his website, Educated Quest, about College Admissions, College Costs, College Academics and College Reputations and Rankings that refutes misleading information found too often in the media and on online chat boards.
What We Did
I started with designing the book cover for both Kindle and print versions of the book, as well as the internal images. Then I converted the book manuscript from a Word document into eBook and PDF files for digital and paperback distribution through Amazon. I created a website, and Author One-Sheet and web banners for promotion on Stuart’s blog and social media.
